Gambler - "PUA Training Home Study Course" review

Gambler PUA Training Home Study CourseThis is my personal review of a product released by the PUA nicknamed "Gambler." I will detail the basics of the product and whether or not it helped me.

Gambler (whose real name is Richard La Ruina) reveals his personal ideas and tactics for picking up girls in his "PUA Training Home Study System."

Gambler's methods resonate with me personally because of two main reasons:

Gambler Richard La Ruina1) He was once a very shy, socially awkward guy, but he overcome that problem, completely revamping his image. That's what I'm in the process of doing, and Gambler's methods and mindset are very relatable to me. As a former shy guy, Gambler seems to understand exactly what I'm going through.

2) One of his primary principles is to never hurt a girl. I really dislike PUA instructors who push students to go for the lay no matter what the emotional cost or burden to the girl. Gambler's personal philosophy is to truly enrich each girl's life whom you come across. Never use her or manipulate her for your own selfish pleasure. He says, if you feel you might hurt her, just let her go. I really respect and admire him for his principles regarding this matter (contrast this mindset with Ross Jeffries at SpeedSeduction).

Moving on to the specifics about his material, Gambler doesn't approach the game from a mindless step-by-step follow-the-routine. And that's a good thing. His ultimate aim is not to teach you to say certain lines at certain times or to robotically follow a set routine, but to gradually acquire an intuitive sense of what to say and do that leads to much more natural game.

That's not to say he doesn't go over specific tactics and routines; don't worry, they're all there. It's just that he seems to want to teach his students not to rely on them rigidly — he uses them more as a general framework upon which to hang your natural personality, not as a crutch or substitute for not having any natural prersonality.

The different steps of the typical pickup are covered, from approaching and opening, body language, building attraction, closing, and inner game issues. The whole system is effective, but you can use individual segments to help your specific needs.

For example, I personally found his material on building attraction super helpful for me. I'd been having trouble talking to girls but not getting them to see me as more than a friendly chat, with no sexual undertones whatsoever. Using what Gambler taught in that relevant section, I was able to raise the sexual tension and buying temperature of the girls I sarged the next night out. His information on how to use your eyes and gaze effectively were extremely valuable for me. Of course, it all depends on where you are in terms of pickup and what areas you are struggling with.

Gambler doesn't make a big distinction between direct game and indirect game, as he doesn't see them as being so compartmentalized. Rather, he teaches a more fluid "go with the flow" type of natural game. Gambler sees memorized opening lines and routine stacks as a training aid that he encourages you to replace with your own natural personality over time.

I like his writing style because he injects many of his own personal accounts as examples of lessons he is trying to convey. This gives his training material a more personal, relatable touch, making him seem like a real live human being and not just some impersonal uber-instructor barking out instructions. I especially found his biographical account of how he went from a lonely shy nerd to a highly sought-after smooth PUA to be a fascinating story.

Gambler teaches in practical fashion by assigning his students to apply what they've just learned in the form of tasks. I recommend you don't skip doing these tasks because they will really cement what you've learned in your head permanently.

The appropriate skill level for Gambler's material would probably be beginner to intermediate. I don't think advanced PUAs will find too much useful information here that they don't already know and use in one form or another. I do personally like Gambler's writing and speaking style (be aware that he is from the UK and has a British accent); I think he writes and speaks clearly and intelligently.

Overall I found Gambler's material to be highly helpful and greatly relevant to me personally (as a recovering shy person), and–unless you are a highly skilled PUA already–there is a lot of wisdom and knowledge to be gleaned from Gambler.
